Question
I did these two questions, but im not sure if im correct.Could somone confirm my answers. Thanks Classify each of the following actions by whether it causes aleftward shift, a rightward shift, or no shift in the direction ofthe net reaction. I got: increase in A & B shift right, increase in C shiftsleft, decrease in A & B shift right, decrease in C shift left, and the final two choices have no shift. Same as the last question.I have decrease the volume andremove some x shifting left and the other two choices shiftingright.Explanation / Answer
The Reaction shifts right if you: Increase A or B Decrease C That having been said you can assume left would be theopposite. If you were to double A and halve B, there would be no changein concentration and thus no change in equilibrium. With the effect of concentration on equilibrium in mind, doubling B and C would still result in a concentratrion favoringthe reactants so the reaction still shifts left.
