We know that at constant temperature, the ionic product of water is constant, which means:

[H3O+]*[OH-] = constant

So as we add hydronium ions into the solution, this means the conc of hydroxide ions must decrease in order to maintain the product constant.

If the hydroxide ions decrease, so the reaction will be favored towards the reactants.
