Question
for the aromatic, compound must satisfy Huckel's Rule.
Huckel's Rule :- an aromatic compound must have a certain number of pi electrons. The number of pi electrons must be equal to 4n+2, where n is equal to zero or any positive integer (n = 0, 1, 2…)
1) furan compound have only 2 pi bond or 4 pi electron but it is aromatic compound because In these compound the extra electrons needed to produce an aromatic condition come from the unshared electron pairs in sp 2 hybrid orbitals around the hetero atom.
2) pyridine compound have 6 pi electron
3) 1,4- dioxine compound have only 4 pi electron so it is non aromatic compound because 2 sp2 hybrid orbitals so, total pi electron came to be 8
4) pyrimidine compound have 6 pi electron
Explanation / Answer
10) Which of the following compounds is not aromatic? 10) B) II C) III A) I
