Question
damage to , 1. High quality audio amplifiers generate large amounts of heat. To dissipate the hetese fins out of e these fins out of the electronic components, heat-radiating metal fins are used. Would it be better iron or aluminum? Why? (Hint: Compare the specific heat to mak capacities of iron and aluminum.) 12. Explain how calorimetry works to calculate ?? or ?? for a reaction. Does the tempe rature of the calorimeter increase or decrease for an endothermic reaction? For an exothermic reaction? Explain.Explanation / Answer
Ans 1 :
The heat capacity of iron is less than the heat capacity of aluminium.
The heat is equal to = mass of metal x specific heat capacity x change in temperature
So if the same amount of heat is given . the iron will get more hotter than aluminium , as it has a lower heat capacity.
So Iron is not the perfect choice and Aluminium is better to make heat radiating metal fins.
