What responsibilities do we, as humans, have to other species?

Explanation / Answer

Humans are the main reason for extinction. Think of all organisms as part of a food web. when one line is cut (organism extints), then the predator for that organism has to get food from someone else, or else they may be at risk of extinction. The organism will have to outcompete for another organisms prey, thus causing a domino effect if the rate is increased. Humans affect extinction directly by deforestation. They cause other creatures to leave their habitat to go to another, disrupting the balance of flow. The theme is basically one organism outcompetes with the other for food causing a domino effect. People should because if they dont, more organisms will become extinct. Scientists say that 99% of organisms that existed in the world are extinct. And a majority of that has to do with the expansion of humans. I think in essence, we should try to preserve habitats for animals for they are needed for many things for humans such as destroying pests from crops, etc. Decisions about preservation of creatures are so tricky for some believe that there will be a balance affect (which is a later topic) you can email me if you have any more questions. If i were president, i would try to create more habitat preservations for animals, which in essence would create more job growth and it will also benefit the biosphere as a whole. :)
