S. Interpreting Solubility Curves 150 140 A. How many grams of ammonium chloride (NH.CI) can be dissolved in 200 grams of water at 90°c? Show calculationsExplanation / Answer
A.At 90oC the solubility of NH4Cl from the graph is 70g per 100 g of watrw.
So for 200 g of water it's solubility is 70g*(200g/100g)= 140g
B) From the graph the solubility of KNO3 at 50oC is 80 g per 100 g of water.so the given solution is saturated solution.
C) The solubility of KCl at 80oC is 50 g
The solubility of KCl at 10 oC is 30 g
So upon cooling from 80 to 10 oC the precipitate formed is 50-30=20 g
