Question

When calculating the overall extraction efficiency of the MIBK system based on the Reserve Standard Solution concentrations determined before and after extraction;

C- Reserve standard (1000mg Fe/L)

Here is my data:

We only have to worry about the C column, using the averages of C and using the graphs equation (made from 0,2,4,6,8,10 mg/L standards) and after reversing dilution I got a concentration of 1082.459 mg/L after extraction.

If i'm right this gives an extraction efficency of 108.249%?

How is this possible?

Explanation / Answer

See u have correctly solved the question but keep in mind efficiency can'tbe greater than one.i think u have used the formula efficiency= output / input

But in some cases we evaluate efficiency .by input/ output for ex in case of turbine to calculate efficiency we have to do input / output
