Question
A simple titration experiment is being performed. We are checking the Molarity of an old solution of KOH that someone had made up years ago that was in the chemical stockroom. In order to do this, we have made an exact 2.00 Molar solution of hydrochloric acid. We place the 2.00M HCl into the buret tube. Next we place 30.0 mL of the KOH unknown Molarity solution into a small flask and add some phenolphthalein indicator turning the solution an intense pink color. When we titrate exactly 32.0 mL of the 2.00M HCl the pink color disappears. What is the Molarity of the old KOH solution?a. 0.505 M
b. 2.005 M
c. 2.106 M
d. 2.133 M
e. 0.469 M
Explanation / Answer
