Explanation / Answer

Metabolism in bacteria - if aerobic organisms, it undergoes oxidation. if anaerobic organisms, it undergoes fermentation.

Chemoautotrophs is the metabolism observed in nitrogen fixing bacteria. Chemoheterotrophs are most of the bacteria, fungi and protozoa. They use chemical energy rather than sunlight to prepare food.

Photoheterotrophs are exhibited by purple non sulfur bacteria, green non sulfur bacteria and heliobacteria. Photoautotrophs are photosynthetic bacteria and cyanobacteria . Both rely on light for the energy metabolism.

Chemoautotrophs use inorganic substances while chemoheterotrophs use sulfur, carbohydrates, lipids instead of CO2. Photoheterotrophs use organic compounds and light instead of CO2. Heteroautotrophs use organic carbon.

Example of bacteria are E.coli,

Thiobacillas thiooxidans is an example of sulfur bacteria

Green nonsulfur bacteria: Chloroflexus auranticus - Photoheterotrophs bacteria

Saccharomyces cerevisiae - fungi
