Explanation / Answer

(a) Campylobacter jejuni is helical shaped, non-spore forming, and gram-negative bacteria found in animal feces. This bacteria cause enteritis, which is characterized by abdominal pain, diarrhea, malaise, and fever.

(b) The possible mode of transmission is by food. In March 2015 California, 6 northern residents were diagnosed with Campylobacter jejuni as a result of consuming raw milk by Claravale farm. This outbreak ranged between Feb 16-23rd, 2015.

(c) Consuming pasteurized milk, and properly cooked food will reduce the future outbreaks.
