Question
You want to set-up a new Biotech company which will produce recombinant vaccines against influenza stains which infect people especially in Turkey. To produce vaccine for 2014, you want to produce recombinant neuraminidase from several influenza strains which have infected Turks in 2013. As shown in the phylogenetic tree figure for neuraminidase based on genetic evidence, (shown below), there are about 12 such strains which have infected Turks in the last 12 years. But you can only produce 3 proteins because of the limited resources of your company. Which 3 neuraminidase genes would you like to pick to make proteins from, to put into your vaccine? Please explain your logic briefly.Explanation / Answer
10, 11 and 12 neuraminidase genes picked to made proteins from and put into newly prepared vaccine.
why choose thsese strains are that phylogenetic tree shows based on genetic evidence of neuraminidase. So that particular genes may be same or close genetic evidence.
