Question

So this is the problem:

I know it's a simple "plug & chug" problem, so I got it down to:

All I have to do now is solve for "v" am I right?

This part is easiest because it's just math calculations, so my professor never went through the entire example of this type of problem. She just left it to ourselves to finish solving. Unfortunately, it's been AWHILE since I've taken any math course so I'm a little confused on how to solve for "v" -_-

Can someone work out the calculation portion step-by-step for me? Please don't just give me the answer, I want to see the math.

Thank you(:

Explanation / Answer

(6.63 x 10^-34 x 2.99 x 10^8) / 120 x 10^-9 = 7.227 x 10^ -19 + (9.11 x 10 ^-31 x v^2 ) / 2
0.165 x 10^-17 = 7.227 x 10^ -19 + 4.55 x 10^-31 x v^2
4.55 x 10^-31 x v^2 = 9.273 x 10^-19
v^2 = 2.038 x 10^12
v = 1.43 x 10^6 m/s
