When given a problem with an aqueous solution containing Na3PO4 and you need to find the boiling point of the solution only knowing the solution is 18.7% by mass Na3PO4 and the Kb for water is .512 It also says to consider if the solute is an electrolyte or nonelectrolyte. (Which NaPO4 is) I have found the molality to be 1.4 mol/kg and know am ready to use the Delta tb= mKb equation in my text book but am confused since there is nothing mentioned about the other equation I have found online which is Delta T= imKb and would need to use the I=4 for that If this is not in my book, why are there two different boiling point equations? And which do I use in my case?

Na3PO4 is highly soluble in water producing ions 3Na+ and 1PO43- ,
hence euation dT = i x kb x m should be used
