Question
1. I have given graph and I need to find the entropy ( delta S) and enthalpy ( delta H) from the graph. I know ( delta H ) is the y-intercept, so how can I find (delta S). Do I need to calculate it for all the ( delta G and T ) values. If so, ( delta H) will be constant for all the value right?
2. Would you say that the enthalpy or the entropy is the predominant factor in determining spontaneity? why?
3. Would it be possible to use water bath at atmospheric pressure to make (delta G) for this reaction to 25.0 kJ/mol? why?
Explanation / Answer
When ?G is negative, a process or chemical reaction proceeds spontaneously in the forward direction, therefore acc to eq ?G = ?H -T?S, ?S should be predominant to make ?G negative
