Question
I'm fairly certain they are but are these two drawing of the EXACT same molecule? The molecule is:
(S)-3-ethyl-5-methylheptane
I'm sure the top one (a) is correct but I'm wondering if the (S) spin is correct for the bottom (b)
If they are NOT the same, is there any rule I should have followed for placing the ethyl and methyl groups on the correct side of the molecule (on top, on bottom, one on top one on bottom)?
