Explanation / Answer

Urinary system:

            Kidneys: two bean-shaped organs found on either sides of the body useful for They filtering the blood in order to make urine. They also control ion concentration and acid-base balance of the blood.

            Hilum: refers to a depression or a fissure where blood vessels and nerves enter an organ.

            Renal cortex: this is the outer region of the kidney containing about 1.25 million renal tubules which is useful for filtering blood and for removing unwanted substances out of the body.

            Renal medulla: This is the middle region of the kidney and acts as a collecting chamber.

            Ureters: These are the tubes that propel urine from the kidneys to the urinary bladder.

            Urinary bladder: An elastic organ that collects and stores urine from the kidneys before disposal.

            Urethra: This is a tube that connects the urinary bladder to the urinary meatus for removing fluids from the body.

            Adrenal gland: These are small glands located on top of the kidney which produces hormones that helps controlling blood pressure and heart rate.
