Please Help! Thanks!
A student weighs 6.501 g of 99.9 % purity cerium ammonium nitrate"CAN", (NH4)2Ce(N03)6 (MW 548.26 g/mol) and uses it to prepare 100.00 ml. of CAN solution. Dissolution of CAN: (NH4)2Ce(N03)6 (s) Ce4+ + 2 NH4+ + 6 N03- Reduction of Ce4+: Ce4+ + 1 e- rightarrow Ce3+ Oxidation of Fe2+: Fe2+ rightarrow Fe3+ + 1 e- Oxidation of malonic acid (MW 104.06 g /mol): CH2(CO2H)2 + 2 H2O rightarrow 2 CO2 + HCO2H + 6 H+ + 6 e- Calculate the normality of the CAN solution. If 10.00 mL of CAN solution requires 24.56 ml. of Fe(ll) solution for titration to the endpoint, calculate the normality of the Fe(ll) solution. 15.00 mL of malonic acid is dilutted to 150.00 mL and then 15.00 mL of this solution (the DUNK) is reacted with 25.00 mLof the CAN solution. The excess CAN solution is then titrated with Fe(ll) solution. If it takes 14.20 mL of Fe(ll) solution for titration to the end point, calculate the concentration of malonic acid (in g/dL) in the undiluted sample.Explanation / Answer
