The Gettysburg address is one of the most powerful speech in the America's history because of the carefull crafted sentences. This speech was delivered by President Abraham Lincoln during the American civil war on 18 November,1963. This was a dedication to the Soldier's national cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvanian. This was about 4 months after the union army defeated the conferaderacy during the battle of Gettysburg. Though it was just a 2 minutes speech with 10 sentences and 272 words but Lincoln was able to strike a chord not merely with his audience but this would always resonate in our minds through times.
Through the speech the Lincoln memorise the people about its declaration of independence and its founding principals of liberty and equality. He refers the declaration of independence by the use of now iconic phrase four score and 7 years ago. Since during that time America was in midst of the civil war so he realise people that the founding principals of America is under attack. He also recall the audience of the sacrifices that people gave their lives in order to ensure the survival the America's principal of democracy.
In the last sentence he said that the sacrifices of the American would not be in vain. It was a call to action and resolve to complete the unfinished work for which they have dedicated their lives. This sentence was full of inspirational words like devotion, freedom, honoured etc. He finishes the sentence with a powerful triple, of the people, by the people, for the people which becomes famous throughout the world.
