Plz help with the questions under data analysis

Turbidity and Jar Test Introduction The simplified jar test simulates a water treatment plant that has a static mixer following chemical addition of coagulant, a flocculator, and settling time. Results are determined qualitatively in this case. An underfeed (not enough coagulant) will cause the water sample to look cloudy with little or no flocculation and almost no settling An overfeed (too much coagulant) will cause fluffy floc that will not settle. A sample with the appropriate dosage of coagulant will have floc settled to the bottom of the container and the water above the floc will be clear Apparatus: Stirring device Raw water for each beaker 0-100 mg/L Chemical coagulant (ferric sulfate/ferric chloride, alum, polymer) Procedure: 1. Calibrate turbidity meter as described in class. 2. Put IL of water in each IL beaker Put 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 mg/L of chemical coagulant respectively in each IL of water 4. Mix at 60-80rpm for 1 min (simulates static mixer) Mix 30rpm for 15min (simulates flocculator) . Stop mixing. Observe the nature and the settling of the floc in the time periods below (0, 5, 15 min from mixer being stopped) Record poor, fair, good, or excellent and underfeed, overfeed, correct dosage ·Then take a about a 15mL sample from each beaker to test the turbidity, 0 mg/L is your blank. Follow the manual procedure

Explanation / Answer

Although it is not clear exactly what the question is, based on the turbitity measurments I have rated the effectiveness of coagluant with respect to the reference water (0 mg/L).

20 mg/L fair

40 mg/L poor

60 mg/L fair

80 mg/L good

data is missing for 100 mg/L, which may be a correct dosage, considering the trend.
