Question

I am currently studying kinetics and i missed these two questions on a test:

1. A plot of lm[reactant] vs. time (with reactant in M and time in seconds) yeilds a straight line with a slope of -120

the question asked for the reaction order, which i missed but i now know its the first order, the other part asks for the rate constant. i know the equation for the first order corresponds with y=mx+b but i am still having trouble figuring out what the rate constant is.

2. A slope of an Arrhenius plot is found to be 3600 and the intercept is found to be 27.

what is the activation energy in kJ/mol (i missed it the first time and since trying to recalculate i got 29.9 kJ/ mol but im not sure if its right)

what is the frequency factor, im not quite sure how to go about this. i know the frequency factor is the "b" in y=mx+b but thats about it

Explanation / Answer

K is slope of graph.
