1) Many disordered protein segments fold on binding to their biological targets.They possess
binding ability and they bind well with modifying enzymes as well as their receptors .
2) Being Flexible linkers they allow linking up of domains to their binding partners thus enabling the binding partners
with extreme conformational dynamics to allow binding.
3)Assuming the form of linear motifs they enable interaction with other biological molecules like Sugars, RNA, DNA etc.
Apart from this they are involved in cell regulatory functions including protein turnover etc.
4) Disorder proteins are also involved in coupled folding and binding function as well.
one potential disadvantage to disorderis that there are a number of diseases which occur due to disordered proteins like cancer or cardiovascular diseases etc
