Question

Please help to find a topic on writing a literature review comparing two organisms across a particular body system, environmental effects/requirements, body plan, behavior, physical characteristics, homeostasis, developmental mechanisms or levels of organization along with pertinent background information on the organisms chosen. You are not allowed to use Humans, Dogs or Cats as one of your organisms for the paper.

Examples of Literature review to pics. You should NOT pick one of these. They are just to give you ideas: • The respiratory system: How it evolved from the perch to a peacock. • How developmental mechanisms differ between two organisms. • A comparative study of alternation of generation between plants and cnidarians. • Differences in feeding mechanisms among the protists. • A comparison of the photosynthetic pathway in C3 and C4 plants. • A comparison of mating rituals/tactics in bony fish. • A comparative review of temperature regulation in two organisms

Explanation / Answer

The topic is difference between vertebrates and invertebrates

The organisms having backbone are called vertebrates while having no backbone are called invertebrates.

Vertebrates have well developed brain and nervous system. Invertebrates lack cell wall.

Some other differences include-

Population- 98% of whole world species are invertebrates while 2% are vertebrates.

Habitat- both are found in vary habitats but vertebrates can adjust almost everywhere as they have advance nervous system.

Size- vertebrates are bigger in size as they have supporting system( Skelton) while invertebrates are smaller in size with some eexception.
