In this experiment you will be given an unknown mixture of sand and salt. The objective is to
separate the sand from the salt to determine percent composition of salt in the unknown. You
will also conduct statistical analysis of your results compared to results obtained by your lab
mates. The statistical analysis should include average value, deviation from average for each data
point, average deviation and relative average deviation.

Question : Should the % salt vary based on whether you measured the sand or the salt? Explain.

% salt will not vary whether you measured the sand or the salt. because

if you measure salt % remaining will be sand. same way if we measure % salt remaining will be salt. what ever way you measure % salt will not vary.
