Question
State the law of conservation of energy.
Check all that apply.
Energy cannot be transferred to the environment. In an energy exchange, energy is transferred between the system and the surroundings. If the system loses energy, the surroundings gain energy, and vice versa. If the system loses energy, the surroundings lose energy. Energy can assume different forms. Energy cannot assume different forms. The law of conservation of energy states that energy can be neither created nor destroyed. Energy can be transferred from one object to anotheExplanation / Answer
Lets choose following correct statements for conservation of energy and explain :
1). In an energy exchange, energy is transferred between the system and the surroundings.
When we have system under observation and whole universe is the surrounding. If system is not isolated then there is exchange in energy between system and surrounding.
2). If the system loses energy, the surroundings gain energy, and vice versa.
Energy lost from the system is taken by surrounding. And also it is true for vice versa.
3). Energy can assume different forms.
This is true because energy have different form. For example electrical energy, wind energy, chemical energy ,etc,
4). The law of conservation of energy states that energy can be neither created nor destroyed.
This is the statement of the conservation of energy.
5). Energy can be transferred from one object to another
If we have one object which is hot and another cold object is bring near to the one which is hot the hot object transfers the heat energy provided that these should be heat conductor.
