Question
Please help couldn't get this question and tried my best CO concentration 0.1470 M and Cl2 concentration of 0.179 M at 1000K. Kc=255 at 1000KFind equilibrium concentration of CO, Cl2, and COCl2 all at 1000K.
Thanks!(: Exercise 14.54 with Seedback reactor," K, 56 at 1000 K What is the equ brium concentration of CO at 1000 K? Express yoar answer in molarity to three sigeifcant figua A reacion midure nilaly contn CO cof .1470 M and a Cl concentration of 0.1r9 M at 1000K co.0.0296 My Answers Give Up Incorrect: Try Again; 3 attempts remaining Express your anawer in molarity to three signiicant figares Clal Ar Ar Incorrect: Try Again; 3 anempts remaining
Explanation / Answer
. CO (g) + Cl2 (g) <---> COCl2 (g)
I 0.1450M....... 0.170M ........ 0M
C -x ................ -x ..............+x
E 0.1450-x .......0.170-x ........... x
You know that the Kc is 255 and that the Kc= the concentrations of the products divided by the concentrations of the reactants so...
255 = x / ((0.1450-x)(0.170-x))
To find the concentrations of each substance, you solve for x by expanding and using the quadratic formula and plug it back into the equilibrium concentration expressions.
