2- Virses use the follong methods for viral genome delivery except:

a) pore formation in the cell's membrane at the cells surface

b) pore formation in the cell's membrane after exocytosis

c) pore formation in the cell's membrane after endocytosis

e) membrane fusion

3- Given the mRNA strand 5'-AUGCCUCCA-3', what is the seqeunce of the template strand of DNA?

4- Proteins that regulate transcription in eukaryotic cells are called:

Please explain. Thanks!

Explanation / Answer

1. A tRNA synthase is an enzyme which bind a specific amino acid to its tRNA. It catalyse the estrification of a specific cognate amino acid to its compatible cognate tRNA to form aminoacyl tRNA.

Thus it has dual specificity for tRNA and its corresponding amino acid. Answer is option e).

2. Virus can use 3 different methods for viral genome delivery-

Direct penetration by pore forming on cell surface

Endocytosis

Membrane fusion with the help of receptors.

Thus all options are included in these methods except option b.

pore formation in the cell membrane after exocytosis is not method for viral genome entry. So answer is b.

3. sequence of template strand of DNA in 3' to 5' direction will be complimentary to mRNA sequence. So sequence is 3'TACGGAGGT5'.

4. Proteins that regulate transcription in eukaryotic cells are called transcription factors.
