Lipid bilayer (Phospholipids bilayer) is the major component of cell membrane which is made up of fatty acid double sheets having head and tails. Heads are hydrophilic phosphate groups and tails have hydrophobic sites.

Because in the catabolic process the larger molecules breakdown into simpler one. After catabolism the product will act as secondary metabolite in the reaction. So here in the reaction the Glucose will breakdown into two pyruvate molecules.

Because inside the various types of reactions takes place where some are breaking down the molecule and some are synthesizing the new product. So break down and synthesis both comes under the part of metabolism. It has two type catabolism and anabolism.
