After reading the case study below, apply each psychological perspective to illustrate how we could better understand this person.
Case:
Bill is a 45-year-old who is suffering from depression. He has recently lost his job and has difficulty keeping friendships. He believes there is no use in trying to find a job or in meeting new people because it always results in failure. He believes therapists are quacks and chooses to drink heavily every day.

Explanation / Answer
Behavioristic perspective of Bill is illustrated by his present condition that is depression which is due to the environmental condition and the response is seen due to the observable behaviour.
Cognitive perspective is concerned with perception,thinking and problem solving and their relation with behaviour,and bill has low efficacy who believes that he is not able to achieve good in his life so he is not making effort.
Biological/physiological perspective is consequences of our genetics and physiology and are concerned with all thoughts , feeling and behaviour which helps in treating the depression.
Socio-cultural perspective emphasizes on the influence of society that we living on our learning process ,bill is motivated to do effort .
Psychodynamic perspective related to mental and emotional forces at the subconscious level,as no behaviour is without the cause and in treating the depression ,therapies depend upon thories of inner conflict wherein repressed behaviour and emotions are surfaced into his consciousness.
Humanistic perspective is optimistic approach and is focused on noble human capacity to overcome hardship,pain and despair and encourage bill to do some soul searching and determine what is missing in his life.
