6) The vitamin D is an essential element for the human body, wgich is required for the normal absorption of calcium and phosphorus ( essential for healthy bones). If there is deficiency of vitamin D, there will be lack of calcium absorption which may leads to some abnormal conditions like rickets. The integument of the human skin produces vitamin D, when exposed to UV radiations of sunlight. When exposed to sunlight, a derivative of steroid cholesterol converted to cholecalceferol in the skin. This cholecalciferol is then converted to calcidiol by the liver. Finally this calcidiol converted to calcitriol (vitamin D) in the kidney.

7) The cleavage lines are also known as Langer's lines, which is an important term in the human body map. These are topological lines correspond to the alignment of collagen fibers in the dermis or skin. The term came from the Austrian anatomist Karl Langer.

10) The heat retaining and body temperature maintaining capacity of the integumentary system is carried out by a process called thermoregulation. The close association of integumentary system with sympathetic nervous system helps to manage the body temperature at 37 degree celcius. Many processes involved in this temperature maintaining including sweating, body cooling etc. Up on aging, many changes in the human body occur, delays in the normal cells function, this leads to decreased mitosis in the stratum basale which makes the epidermis very thin. Which then affect many funtions such as wound healing as it loses elasticity, then affects or delay the the process of total thermoregulation process.
