Question
Can you help me with these questions please Your research team evaluated the relative importance of five species in a community. The elimination of Species #1, 2, 4, and 5 did not significantly impact the community. The addition of Species #3 increased total species number. Species #3 must be a - Clumped Dispersion Species Uniform Dispersion Species Dominant Species Resource Partitioning Species Keystone Species Some bear species transfer nutrients from rivers to forest soils. This affects the types of plant species in the community. How would you describe the role of these bears? Engineer Species Biomagnifying Species Mutualist Species Keystone Species Dominant Species
Explanation / Answer
19. Uniform Dispersion species: - Addition of individual species increase the total population number but the elimination of species doesn’t show any impact on community. In this the species will be spaced evenly they are not in clumped formation which happens in case of limited resources.
So here the #3 species just increasing the community number. The absence of species #1, 2, 4 and 5 not showing negative impact on community.
20. Keystone species: - The change in number of keystone species brings the change in ecosystem. Suppose the numbers of lions are low in that condition the dear will be large in number. Same case occurs in opposite manner where the lion are larger in number and dear are less in number. Change in number of dear and lion will change the ecosystem and environment.
In same manner the Key stone species transfer the nutrients from river to the soil. For example sail, grizzled bear. Their hair soak the river water when they move into forest them that nutrient containing water drain off into the soil. This will bring the change in the environment.
