Explanation / Answer

The forensic science is a branch of science, it is used in courts for justice, the term forensic is derived from the word forensis, it means belonging to courts of justice or to public discussion and debate. this subject uses the knowledge of science and technology for legal investigation. This combination of subjects supports the theory of Transfer: "When two objects meet, some evidence of that meeting can later be found and verified."

history:

Early origins of forensics appear in ancient Egypt and later in Mesopotamia.

Around the mid 6th century first book in this field is published in China, followed by the first textbook in the 12th century. but the substantial progress occurred in the 19th century. The growth of this ffield started with the development of various standard procedures to identify the presence of blood in a forensic context, developement the principles of toxicology(Mathieu Orfila, father of toxicology) for detecting the poisons or contaminants in blood, development of fingerprinting technology for the identification of criminals by Francis Galton(father of Fingerprinting), development of crystal test for hemoglobin.

but the forensic science was originally applied in the late 19th century, in London in the examination of victims of Jack the Ripper for wound patterns.

The role of forensic science expert:

Forensics scientifically analyses the pieces of evidence gathered from the crime site or person of interest in that crime. if there are no known witnesses then the role of forensics plays a vital role then they study the crime by using DNA finger printing technology, examine dental work and even study the skeletal structure for the identification of the dead body and also convict.

Capabilities of forensic science:

Forensic science made us possible to solve a crime using some basic tools like

By observing the blood spatter patterns occurred,

By doing toxicology studies of blood to analyze its composition for the identification of drugs like narcotics (heroin/cocaine) or poisons (pesticide/chemicals) to determine the cause of death.

By using DNA- fingerprinting technology, we can identify whether the suspect was at the crime scene and did the crime.

Forensic science also plays a very key role for the criminal justice system when presenting a case in court.
