The isoprene molecule has a structure of CH2=C(CH3)-CH=CH2.

But here in this question it is asked to show the isprene carbon skleton only (i.e. C-C-C-C structure) and not the isoprene unit or molecule (CH2=C(CH3)-CH=CH2). Thats why the green skeleton shown in the above two pictures here are the correct one as it only showing the isoprene carbon skleton that is C-C(CH3)-C-C irrespective of the conjuggated double bonds as seen in the isoprene molecule.

Hence you should not be confused with the isoprene molecule and isoprne skleton structure (i.e. only C-C-C-C structe).
