Question

A solution of water (Kf=1.86 ?C/m) and glucose freezes at ? 4.75 ?C.

Part B. What is the molal concentration of glucose in this solution? Assume that the freezing point of pure water is 0.00 ?C. Express your answer to three significant figures and include the appropriate units.

Part C. A solution of water (Kb=0.512 ?C/m) and glucose boils at 103.06 ?C. What is the molal concentration of glucose in this solution? Assume that the boiling point of pure water is 100.00 ?C. Express your answer to three significant figures and include the appropriate units.

Explanation / Answer

Part B.) Change in temperature = 0.00-(-4.75) = 4.75 C

DeltaT = Kf * m

4.75 = 1.86*m

m = 2.554 molal = 2.55 molal

Part C.) Change in temperature= 103.06 - 100 = 3.06 C

So, deltaT = kB*m

= 3.06 = 0.512*m

m = 5.97656 molal = 5.98 molal

If you satisfied with the solution please like it thankxx...
