Explanation / Answer

Partial Pressure of the CO2 formed = 656.7 - 26.7 = 630 torr Answer for (a)

Volume = 17.05-0.3 = 16.75 mL

Amount of CO2 formed

PV = nRT

630 x 0.01675 = n x 62.363 x 300

n = 5.64 x 10-4 moles answer for (b)

1 mole of NaHCO3 will give 1 mole of CO2 as per the equation

NaHCO3 ---> NaOH + CO2

SO moles of NaHCO3 = 5.64 x 10-4 moles

so mass of NaHCO3 is 5.64 x 10-4 moles x 84g/mol = 0.047 g answer for (c)

SO it will be 0.047/0.124 x 100 = 38.21%
