Explanation / Answer

Regional metamorphism

A type of metamorphism in which the mineralogy and texture of rocks are changed over the wide area by deep burial and heating associated with the large scale forces of plate tectonics in regional metamorphism rocks that form closer to the margin of tectonic plate where the heat and pressure are grater.

Regional metamorphism occurs due to changes in pressure and temparature over a large region of the earth crust this is also occurs at subduction zones. A whide range of metamorphic rocks are prodused by regional metamorphism.

Contact metamorphism :

Metmorphism in which the menaralogy and texture of a body of rock are changed by exposure of the presure and extreme temparature associated with they body of intrusive magma.

Differences between contact metamorphism and regional metamorphism

1.This is a type of a metamorphism where rock minerals and texture are changed mainly by heat due to contact with magma.

2.In earth surface this metamorphism sees in a deeper layers.

3.Contact metamorphism takes place over a relatively small area.

1.Where rock minarals and texture are changed by heat and pressure over the region.

2.This type of metamorphism sees at the earth surface and upper layers.

3.Regional metamorphism takes place over a wide region.

Mineral deposits associated with metamorphic rocks

The intrusive rocks of minerals that are associated with the metamorphic rocks Asbestos, graphite, talc, soapstone, andalusite, kyanite, garnet. feldspar, quartz , muscovite
