The following image was taken in Acadia National Park in Maine. State which type of weathering is predominant, physical or chemical (only one of them), and describe the weathering process you think has occurred (i.e. frost action, salt-crystal growth, exfoliation, thermal/biological action for physical or hydrolysis, oxidation, carbonation for chemical). Here predominant means which one more contributed to the degradation of the rocks. Keep in mind favorable conditions for either weathering process.

Here Physical type of weathering is Predominent and here the Frost action type of physical weathering has occurred

Because Here rock are largely broken which is possible by Frost action .

During the summer time water enter into the crack and then in the time of winter the water convert into ice . we all konw that when water convert into ice , its volume increases and due to this a high amount of pressure exert on rock , which provide sufficient amount of force to break the rock in to small pices .here we can see that those crack or beaking trend into the rock are almost sharp which is possible by frost action .

this is not exfoliation type weathering as the edges are not rounded . If exfoliation types weathering occurs , then some rounded or smooth types surface feature will be seen . But here we can not see this types of feature .
