Explanation / Answer

5. Answer:

TENZING NORGAY was a Nepalese Indian mountaineer who was one of the first two individuals to scale the highest peak in the world MOUNT EVEREST. He was also one of the two individuals to reach mount everest summit range. He performed this event along with EDMUND HILLARY(NEW ZEALAND).

He took part in every expedition for almost twenty years. And finally he was a part of JOHN HUNT'S 1953 BRITISH MOUNT EVEREST EXPEDITION. This was led by Colonel John Hunt, who was hoping for success. And that is when Tenzing Norgay along with Edmund reached the summit creating history. Mount Everest is the highest point on this entire planet. When climbers reach the summit range, it literally means they are on the top of the world. His participation in the British expedition has gained him popularity and made him famous, which clearly represents his importance in British history.

If we notice, the climbing equipment they used back in 1953 were much similar and equivalent to the equipment used now. After achieving this he became worldwide celebrity and received many honors. American magazine Time named him one of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century.

8. Answer:

SHERRY ORTNER is an American feminist anthropologist who publishes regularly in areas of feminist theory. Sherry also specialized in social and cultural theory. Her essay 'Is female to male as nature is to climate' clearly elevates that women are being identified with nature , where as men are identified with culture. The main reason why sherry thinks women are associated with nature is because of woman's body and it's function.

The concept of gender in her words argue that every society is divides between nature and culture. According to Sherry nature is inferior to males also wants to figure out why men have more power in society. Her concept also explains why women are universally considered as secondary sex and culture is a man made structure. I completely agree with the concept of gender because in her book she argues that "women's body and her specialized reproduction function make her appear closer to nature", which is so true.
