36. A hill side with a steep slope is likely to have which type of drainage?
a) Parallel
b) Centripetal
c) Rectangular
d) Trellis
41. “Aretes” and “horns” are examples of…
a) depositional landforms produced by glaciers
b) erosional landforms produced by glaciers
c) erosional landforms produced by river systems
d) depositional landforms produced by river systems
42. Which of the following is TRUE regarding deserts and erosion?
a) all of these
b) Water is scarce in deserts, but has a great effect on desert erosion
c) Deserts are generally very eroded
d) The typical lack of plants in deserts encourages erosion
43. Please describe the landform assemblage we have in the Imperial Valley and provide examples of one erosional and one depositional landform we could find here.
44. Please explain where we would generally expect to find coral reefs, and describe the environmental conditions necessary for coral to flourish.
45. Although oscillating waves in oceans and lakes appear to be moving forward, the motion they cause is actually
a) up and down
b) backwards
c) side to side

Explanation / Answer
33. any species of plant, animal or fungus which are not native and are harmful for the native organisms of that place and also having a ecological and economical harm is called invasive species. examples of the invasive species are the black rat, the asian tiger, kudzu, the cotton whitefly etc.
the black rat are realted to tropical asia originally but by the trade ships of human they reaches to the european countries and the other parts of the world. their species success with another species of rats and succeeded as a rampant species all over the world. these combination of black rats were the cause of extinction of various birds and reptiles species which were the native species of that region.
35. Altitudional zonation is the classification of ecosystem according to the height because of different natural conditions. list the zones of altitudinal zonation is -
a)Foothills zone- this is the lowland area , vegetation depend on the climate, soil quality and other natural factors like tropics, desert and grasslands.
b) montane zone - rain forest and coniferous forest are occured dominantly
c) Alpine zone-this is the area between snow line and tree line
d) snow zone.- this the snow covered area. vegetation is too rare hear.
with increasing height vegetations depends on various factors like temperature, atmospheric pressure, soil quality, solar radiation, humidity, and biological factors.
36. in parallel pattern the major stream occupies the fault while tributeries which are parallel, meet the stream approximately at the same angle.
in centripetal pattern river and its tributeries flows radial inwards in central basin.
in rectangular pattern angular deflection of stream courses are apparent
in trellis pattern major streams are parallel and short tributaries join the main stream at nearly right angles.
so we can say that A hill side with a steep slope is likely to have Centripetal pattern .
41. Aretes formed when two glaciers worn a steep ridge into a rock. and when two or more aretes wroded than horn formed.
so Aretes” and “horns” are examples of
