Question
3. (5 points) Imagine that you are going to eat lunch with Profs. Goldburg and Kushnir. You are choosing among three restaurants, labeled A, B, and C. You strictly prefer: A to B to C (A BC) B to A to C (B>AC) C to B to A: (CBA) Prof. Goldburg strictly prefers Prof. Kushnir strictly prefers You need to propose a restaurant that will be put up for vote against restaurant A, using majority voting. In particular, the restaurant that receives two or more votes will be chosen. Which restaurant should you propose for a vote if you want to eat at a restuarant that you prefer? Why?Explanation / Answer
I prefer A most to be choosen for lunch. And if I have to propose a restraunt against A for voting then i will put C option against A for vioting, in order to make A win.
If I would have out B against A, then the two professors would obviously choose B. Because prof Goldburg prefer B than A so he will vote for B. And also prof Kushnir prefer B than A so he will also choose than. This will occur two votes for B and one vote (my vote) for A. This will end up having lunch at B.
Instead if i propose restruant C, then I and Prof Goldburg would choose A over C. Because i clearly prfere A most and prof Goldburg prefers A over C. So we will get two votes for restraunt A even if prof Kushnir chooses C. This will end up in having lunch at restraunt A.
Hence i will propose restraunt C against A.
