Problem South Gamara is a less developed country in the southern part of Africa. It was under French colonial rule from 1868 to 1927. The decades following independence saw a civil war and a series of ruthless military dictators. For the past five years South Gamara has been ruled by President Amoto, who has been trying to stabilize the country, help it develop, and relieve his people's poverty. Use what you have learned in this chapter to answer the following questions. Investigation 1Explanation / Answer
1. President Amato's has to incentivize the investors to come into Gamara. President has to play the role of facilitator i.e he has to increase the role of private corporates because the private sector will increase competition thus improving the war resources are spent. This can be done by giving investors friendly environment to invest, tax holidays, quick clearance of files, easy availability of land to set industries.Private investors will invest only when conditions are subtle.
2. Government-owned business is marked by corruption, huge bureaucracy, inefficient machinery, wasteful spending of resources. So President can close sick government industries, can sell the share of government industries to private firms without giving them majority stock.
