1. Environmental objectives are important in protecting the environment in order to obtain a sustainable development. It gives better understanding of the impact of the organisation on the environment. Also it give a basis for benching environmental and operational performance and management. It also important for increasing the awareness of employees towards environment and also improves the relationship of customer and community. It also identifies the opportunities for the efficient use of resource and energy. It also determines whether the objectives and targets of environments are being met.

2. Conventionally the operation management for the evaluation of the organisation performance is based on cost, service, quality, time. But now environmental protection measures are necessary in order to obtain a sustainable development. Environmental performance can be measured by policies, people, planning, procedures, practices, actions and decisions in the organisation.

3. The environmental objectives merge with the operations objective so to obtain a sustainable development and help an organization to better understand the potential or actual impact to the environmental aspect and assist them in implementation and planning of environmental performance evaluation. Management performance indicators are policies, procedures, practices, planning, decisions and actions of organisation. Operation performance indicators are supply of inputs, input required, installation, design, operation, maintenance of equipments, output and their delivery. Environmental condition indicators are information about local, global and national, regional condition of the environment.

4. Environmental operations help in maximizing profit of the organization without degrading the environment. Its objective is to reduce the use of input like energy or water consumption as well as manage waste produced to landfill and other water body. It focuses on the recycling of the waste which can reduce the cost of the operations and thus increased the profitability of the organization.
