Explanation / Answer

I agree with the argument of trinity given by the Rodrik as hyper globalization not only increases the trade integration, but also, it brings the assimilation of different cultures from across the world. It happens as firms become MNCs and they set up their bases in different countries, bringing people from different nations as expatriates. All these aspects are well as the hyper-globalization works, but it dilutes the principles of the nation states where one tradition, one culture and one identity rules. Hence, if hyper globalization has to succeed, then the stubbornness of the nation states has to diminish. Then, these two phenomena can work together.
On a similar note, the democracy goes with the rule of the majority, but it is more inclined to different cultures and traditions that diminish the effects of a nation state. It means that with the increased role of democratic government, the phenomenon of nation state comes down. So at a time, only two phenomena will exist together and Rodrik is found to be right in his claims.
