It is generally a financial support system established under law to provide income, medical care, and rehabilitation to employees for illness, injury, or death arising out of, and in the course of, their employment and it was not happened due to the fault of employees. Amount paid as compensation is based on the salary of the employee (also on the number of his or her dependents in some cases) and is usually subject to a specified maximum. In most countries, this system is compulsory although agricultural laborer and domestic day labors are not included.

A. Who is covered by this insurance ?

Ans. Under this compensation many, but not all, employees are entitled to workers’ compensation. The Federal Employment Compensation Act (FECA) provides non-military, federal employees with workers compensation. Workers employed by private companies, states, or local governments should contact their state workers compensation board (because it differs state to state)  for specifics about coverage.Some states exempt certain categories of workers, such as agricultural employees, seasonal employees, domestic employees, and independent contractors, from their workers' compensation systems. Other states require coverage only if an employer employs a minimum number of employees. Whether a person is entitled to workers' compensation benefits or not that person should contact an experienced workers' compensation authority of the area.

B. What does an employee receive if she is injured on the job?

Ans. When an employee is injured in workplace or on duty doing the job then the employee could get the benfit depending on the nature and extent of injuries and these injuries are examied by third party whether that person will be eligibile for any compensation or not. This injury report are prepared by supervisor it is send to the risk management authorities. After this risk management will give workers compensation claim form. After investigating the injuries the workers are given the benefits for injuries. The benefits are

D. At present the college authority will take the responsibility. The injured athlities are entitled to get the benfits from the college authorities. If it is insured under certain agency then that insurance agency would be responsible for giving the benefit.
