Question

can you paraphrase below please! thank you!

"We might expect a negative correlation between class size and test score. Firstly, in smaller classes, teacher can give more attention on each and every student and the student can focus better in smaller class. A negative correlation simply indicates that a class of smaller class size is associated to higher performance. For example, children from rich families might be more expected to attend the schools having smaller class sizes, and rich children generally score better than others on the standardized tests."

Explanation / Answer

It is quite probable that number of students in class is negatively correlated with performance of students. The reason is it is possible for teacher to monitor and guide each student in small class and students also do not loose focus in smaller class. They tend to concentrate more. Negative correlation will show that classes of large size tend to be associated with lower performance
