Question

You and a classmate live a few doors down from each other, and both go to the same MegaMart store for well, everything you buy You asked if the two of you should start carpooling to save some money and get some quality study time in too, and your classmate agrees. The only problem was that when you asked him to show up at 8:30am so that you could make it there by 9.15, he was totally puzzled and asked why so early?' How is it that the two of you came up with wildly different time estimates for this trip?

Explanation / Answer

There is difference in the time estimates of the two classmates because of difference in the variables considered in the estimation od time. One classmate might have considered traffic waiting time as one of the independent variables and thus taken a larger time margin as compared to other classmate. Also, there might be difference in the computed or average speeds of the car they are considering. Thus, difference in the independent variables leads to different time estimates by two classmates.
