Question

Do any pure form governments really exist?? If so, Give an example of a successful vs failed First World country functioning under each of the above if they exist. (If no pure forms, give the closest, and state the shared component, ie- Sweden is Capitalistic with strong adopted cradle to grave Socialistic components to social health and welfare entitlement...but still more dominantly capitalistic; Russia is Totalinarian pseudo communistic turned Capitalistic, and has found wealthy success in its oil/gas and soon to come diamond mining.). Please notice what component is the quintessential for progress, despite human nature's tendency for abuse, and which components consistently lead to financial failure, strife, rights losses and usually war. ***This is not a homework question...this is a SURVEY to judge the education systems.*** It should stimulate some to read and learn historic analysis.

Explanation / Answer

I see what your question's getting at; I've heard it many times. But I'll answer honestly... No, no "pure" forms have ever existed, including communism, contrary to the belief of many. I would include the several page paper I had in my AP European history class that including an abundance of evidence from historical documents showing how Russian communism grossly misinterpreted the true Marxist communism. Alas, I lost it. Obviously, some of the Scandinavian nations are closest to Socialism, Russia to communism, North Korea to totalitarianism, and Hong Kong to capitalism. Obviously, capitalism has worked the most while totalitarianism and communism have been the worst, followed closely by socialism. I could say that Russia improved a lot once it switched to a more capitalistic state, and could point to Hong Kong's economic growth contrasted to the failed state that is North Korea. But I won't, because I will qualify the statement that capitalism > the others. Capitalism has been lucky to get the smartest, best, and hardest working leaders; most of the totalitarian and communist leaders have been paranoid and diagnosed with personality disorders, and they implemented their misinterpreted forms of the original ideologies into unstable nations . At the current moment, all of the attempts at "communism" and socialism have failed, but, in many years, they could work; they are simply utopian pipedreams at the current moment, of course. Please note that I not a communist, capitalist, socialist, or pro-dictator (liberal independent). I do agree that capitalism has worked the best and should be used for a long time. But I don't believe one should say that it is the best, since none of the others have been fully tried before.... Hopefully I gave a nuanced opinion to provide some food for thought.
