Question
This essay is not a very strong one, can anyone make corrections on thesis statments and topic sentences and everything. i really have to know to write a good essay.
How about better parents?
Parents are role model of their children. Children spend most of their time with parrents. It is for sure, children will copy or imitate their parents doing. In order to prepare their children for a better future, parents should involve in children's education. According to the article,"How about better parents?," it mentions athat better teachers are needed to improve children's skill in education. That is no question at all. However, new studies have proved that parents who help children for their home work, reading and writing had made bid difference in education. Thus, we also need better parents. As in the article it says that american children were left behind in a 15 years old PISA test. The reason might be American parents are pretty busy to help children at home. Therefore, nothing can replace the classroom instruction, but better parents are important in improving childrens education.
One idea i found significant is that parents have great impact on children's success in education. There would be different parents in the city. Some would be highly professional and others would be poorly educated or not educated. But somehow, every parent can push their children to do better in school, regardless of their edcation background. As for instance, a survey in the article where 50,000 parents were questioned how they deal with their children's success in school. The survery showed that whose parents have helped them reading and home work scored much better than those parents do nothing. This explains why we need better parents.
It is also true that children listen to their parents better than anyone else. Children below sixteen years old are pretty much under parents control. At their age children are like a cloth with white color that one can color it as they wish. They also will get little clue of importance of education. But if parents ignore them, however, they will not study hard and they will stay doing nothing at home. I read an artcle in "New York Times," it says that parents who do not stay with children, then their children are not doing home work. Those children are most likely to get low grade.
Discipline plays a vital role in achieving children's performance in academic education. It is because discipline helps chidlren to follow their schedule. Going to school and doing home work on time are all necessary to do well on test. When they are at home reading books and limiting on them TV and Video games will inprove them a lot. So, who will be telling children to do all these activities, I believe no other than parents. Therefore, great teachers make a lot of difference in chidlren's success, however, to have better parents is plus point.
In conclusion, no matter how parents are busy they should spend sometime guiding children at home. As many research and surveys explained how helpful parents are in children's achievement.
Explanation / Answer
How about better parents?
Parents are generaly the role models of their children as the latter spend most of their time with their parents. It is inevitable that children will copy or imitate their parents' actions. In order to prepare their children for a better future, parents should be actively involved in the child's education. In to the article,"How about better parents?," it is mentioned that better teachers are necessarily needed to improve a child's skill and prospects in education. There is no doubt about that obvious statement at all. However, latest studies have proved that parents who help children in their home work and for their reading and writing skills, make a palpable difference in the child's education. Thus, we also need better parents. As it says in the article, american children were lagging in a 15 years old PISA test. The reason might be that American parents are very busy and are not able to help children at home. Therefore, even though nothing can replace classroom instruction, better parents are vital in improving the child's education.
One observation I found significant is that parents have a great impact on children's success in education. There are different types of parents in cities. Some would be highly professional and many others would be poorly educated or uneducated. But somehow, every parent pushes their children to perform better in school, regardless of their educational background. For instance, a survey in the article states that 50,000 parents were questioned on how they deal with their child's success in school. The survery showed that those parents who have helped their children in reading and in home work scored much better than those parents who lack involvement and support for their children. This also emphasizes the need for better parents' involvement.
It is common knowledge that children listen to their parents better than anyone else. Children below the age of sixteen years are pretty much under their parents' guidance. At this age children are like clay that can be molded as per their wish and future prospects. They also have little or no clue on the importance of education. But if parents ignore them and their studies, they will not study hard and they will stay home doing virtually nothing. Another artcle in 'The New York Times' states that if and when parents are out of their homes on work, etc.,their children do not generally finish their home work. These children are most likely to get low grades and consequently have poorer performance.
Discipline plays a vital role in achieving children's performance in academic education. It is because discipline helps children follow their own schedule rigorously. Going to school and finishing home work on time are all necessary to perform well on tests. When they are at home, reading books and limiting their TV time and Video games ime will improve their performance and education a lot. So, who should be the ones telling children to do all these activities? It must be the child's parents and no other. TWe can conclude that great teachers can make a significant difference in chidlren's success, but parental guidance will turn out to be a boon and a bonus.
In conclusion, no matter how busy parents are, they should make time for their kids and spend that time guiding and grooming their children at home. This seemingly obvious statement is also supported by various surveys and continuous research around the globe.
