Manufacturers spend millions of dollars annually on mantaining their brands because they want to attract people , and they specify their speciality of the products in the advertisement so that they can capture large market share .If the advertisement of any concerned product, service or idea is done correctly at a right place, through proper media, and within a particular time constraint, can attract many new customers.

Just take the example of ourselves. we dont want to buy a product of the company of t which we have never heard , we just think that the company is local and the product will not be good .nowadays its the brand that matter thatswhy company spend large amount in marketing in mantaining their brands
