1) The problem was there was too much reporting about candidates personal lives, what they commented on etc. It not about their policies or their actions
2) I think it is republicans that have been covered more due to outlandish comments made by president nominee. It is not about his policies or anything it is just the comments that got lions share of attention
3) In general there was no policy discussion, Obama's 10 years went just to deal with recession there was no discussion how US will get out of financial mess, Neither of the candidates gave decisive answer about rescue of American economy. It is just their comments that have made to headlines and every news organization covered this.
4) Yes, Media on its part did not cover public policy of candidates, One thing is very clear Recession and unemployment is here to stay. There is nothing either candidate can do about it and media is perfectly silent about these public issues. Just a continued covereage of who said what rattled people.
