In chapter eight of contemporary marketing A case analysis states that snacking patterns have changed from 25 years ago to present day. The case analysis also states that eating habits are changing, in which people are now making smart choices rather than dieting. I need help in how changes in snacking patterns with children and dieting declining with adults would effect food manufacturers, farmers, schools, employers, and government agencies? The chapter is about sales forcasting and market research firms.

Explanation / Answer

The market area of food manufacturers would show an increase in their sales and revenues as people are moving towards changing eating habits. they are now preferring sophisticated eatables which are healthy in nature and avoid fat content.In this way FMCG(fast moving consumer goods) manufacturers would be making huge profits and their sales and turnover would definitely be increasing. The farmers on the other hand would also be benefitting from one point of view as the raw materials used by the manufacturers is provided by the farmers. So either indirectly or directly they would be effecting the eating habits of the consumers. Another point of view could be that direct sales of their supplies may be hampered because of the movement of the people towards more sophisticated eating habits(snacking). Schools children very fond of of eatables like snacks would definitely be proliferating their tastes towards such eating items making their businesses grow. Employers would be able to cast a wide range of choices over the employees because as the demand for such eatables increases, their supply has to be increased to cope up with demand and so more and more workers/employees would be needed in such industries which would provide employers with a wide range of choices. Government agencies also have to reassess their pricing,distribution and procurement policies to make the supply system efficient and help in allocating the resources effectively.
